Desert
Springs captures the essence of what it is that sets golf
apart from other sports and will have travelling golfers anxious
to sample the desert golf experience. Built to comply with
full USGA specifications and quality standards of the now
famous desert courses of Arizona and California, The Indiana
is the first of two 18-hole courses to be built on the resort.
When stretched to its full length of 6,173 metres, the layout
is built to challenge the world`s best players. However, the
bunker placements and positioning of hazards allows the design
to present a more accommodating challenge when played from
the yellow tees. The 18 hole Indiana course opened in 2000
and another 18 hole are due to open next year. |

Apartments |
| The
Apartments at Desert Springs are colonial in style, reminiscent
of the old local town of Cuevas del Almanzora. Set in courtyards,
around swimming pools, gardens and classical Spanish patios,
they have a village feel and sense of place. Their location
gives them tremendous views to the golf, the sea and surrounding
mountain ranges. |
| Living
rooms have sun terraces with single or double aspect. Each property
has the use of parking area, gardens, swimming and paddling
pools and a private roof solarium. |
| Colonial
Townhouses |
| The
Townhouses, like the apartments, are designed to have the classic
colonial feel of the houses built by local families with their
new wealth from the silver mining boom in Villaricos during
the 19th century in the centre of the historic town of Cuevas
del Almanzora. They have wooden and iron verandas and balconies
and a wealth of attractive external detail. These 21st century
townhouses are often set around courtyards, but some front the
golf. |

living rooms have fireplaces, natural wood joinery and features
throughout; high quality fittings, kitchens with granite worktops,
oven, ceramic hob, fridge/freezer and washing machine; fully
fitted mirrored wardrobes in bedrooms, attractively tiled bathrooms
and shower rooms and ground floor cloakrooms. |

Cottages |
| The
cottages are based on the precise shapes of the old individual
field houses, the traditional “casas del campo”of
The Almanzora Valley. |
| Our
modern field houses are of course built with all mod cons, with
large terraces and pergolas in their own private gardens, but
in clusters sharing beautiful individually landscaped gardens
and swimming pools in semi-closed communities, with all the
cost benefits implied. They are very tranquil and private. |
| The
rustic style is carried inside with natural “rollizo”
beams and solid natural wood features, a cottage fireplace,
traditional style joinery, terracotta floors and traditional
tiling.They all have large terraces at first floor level and
a separate garage |
| Country
Villas |
| These
are large 3 & 4 bedroom detached country villas, ranged
along the fairways of the Indiana golf course. Their design
faithfully reflects that of the larger country “cortijos”
and “haciendas” of the Almanzora and Spanish Levante
region. |
| All
have a gated front court, a walled off garden, immediately overlooking
the desert golf course with spectacular views and a private
swimming pool. |
| They
have extensive and cool colonnaded verandas, with large family
and private roof terraces. Suffice it to say that the joinery,
fittings, tiling and finishing throughout are of the best and
most luxurious quality, with air conditioning, fully fitted
kitchens, bathrooms, wardrobes, cloakrooms etc. Each property
has a single garage or large underground parking area, with
an option to extend to create a massive cool underground area
for bodegas and games rooms. |
